2023

HAPPY TRAILS

As we wind down our days at the ranch, Harley, Carolyn and their family want to thank our new and returning guests for another incredible ranch season! We’ve enjoyed every moment of celebrating birthdays, singing under the starry skies, and exploring on our trail adventures with
guests hailing from various corners of the United States, and even from our northern neighbors in Canada.

2023 Season Events

In addition to our family vacationers, Red Rock Ranch hosted a handful of events and photo shoots, including a session with Buffalo Jackson Trading Company, musician Anne Wilson, and Laura Von Hagen’s West Wedding Co. The rustic and breathtaking landscape at Red Rock Ranch provided an incredible backdrop for these photos, videos and memorable occasions. If you’re planning a corporate retreat, intimate wedding ceremony or a family reunion in 2024, plan ahead! Contact Nina Rodriguez at [email protected].

Good Reads

Sharing the history and stories of Wyoming with our guests is all part of the experience. For a deeper dive, guests can check out our library or pick up a book at the store.
One of our favorites is Tory Taylor’s book “ On the Trail of the Mountain Shoshone Sheep Eaters: A High Altitude Archaeological and Anthropological Odyssey.” This story is about the Mountain Shoshone who lived in Wyoming’s Wind River and Absaroka ranges seen through the eyes of early explorers and mountain men, along with Taylor’s own experience finding archaeological sites.

Celebrating 50 Years

Next year marks the 50th Anniversary for Red Rock Ranch. Original ranch owners David and Debbie MacKenzie had a dream to make this a special place for families and friends to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming landscape. We’re honored to continue this dream. At Red Rock Ranch, every guest becomes family.

Fall and Winter Cabin Rentals

Looking for a quiet fall or winter Jackson Hole getaway? While the Red Rock Ranch kitchen is closed, our Nez and Simpson cabins are equipped with kitchenettes, allowing guests to bring their own supplies for their ranch visit and take advantage of our winter rates. Snowmobile at your leisure to your cabin door or contact Guest Services to transport your supplies to the ranch.

We couldn’t do it without our staff!

Our amazing staff is at the very heart of our success here at the ranch. We are deeply grateful for their hard work and dedication that allows us to provide exceptional service to all of our guests. Our 2023 team included both new and returning staff (one who has been with us for 16 years!), all of whom pitched in to make sure our guests were both comfortable and able to get the most out of their vacation here in Jackson Hole.

Safe travels to our staff as they return to their winter homes, including Texas, Ohio, Arizona, Wisconsin, and even as far away as Turkey. We hope they’ll come back to Jackson Hole next season to be part of our team again, and help guests make lasting memories amidst the area’s stunning mountain scenery and western charm. We couldn’t provide the authentic dude ranch experience without them!

What our horses do during winter.

With snow on its way, our wranglers are busy preparing the horses for the winter. Many will be spending winter at the Ranch in Jackson Hole, and are growing thicker hair to stay warm. Our Agricultural Team grew plenty of hay this summer to keep them well fed. (check it out!)
We’re also trailering some of our horses south to the warm Arizona desert, where they will work with students in a local horsemanship program before returning to the beautiful mountains of Red Rock Ranch next spring.

THANK YOU!

The MacKenzie-Stimmel family extends heartfelt gratitude to all of our guests, families and friends that make Red Rock Ranch such a special place. We look forward to next year when we’ll be celebrating our 50th anniversary!
