A Little History
Red Rock Ranch is located in-between and a little to the east of both Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park.
Our historic family ranch got it’s start in the late 1800’s when four homesteaders decided to make a go of it here. Over the years, the ranch saw many changes and owners.
In 1974, the ranch was purchased by an Illinois couple named David and Deborah MacKenzie. The MacKenzies saw the charm and beauty in this land and way of life and wanted to share it with others. They worked hard, transforming the dilapidated and once privately owned cattle ranch into the celebrated guest ranch it is today.
Red Rock Ranch Today
The ranch has been in the MacKenzie family for over 45 years now. When David and Deborah retired, they handed the reigns over to their daughter Carolyn. Carolyn and her husband, Harley Stimmel continue the tradition of offering a truly unique and genuine guest ranch experience to all their guests.
Our Jackson Hole dude ranch offers a wide variety of family activities; fly-fishing, swimming, hiking, square dances, massage services, and more. Our outstanding horseback riding program will have you safely out and riding the range like an old hand in no time.
Feeling adventurous? We also offer team sorting and cattle work for a richer dude ranch experience. Our truly engaging kids’ program will make this a great vacation for both them and you!
Hungry? You’ll find our ranch cuisine is quite exceptional with mouth-watering BBQ, plated gourmet dinners, and home baked breads and desserts. Our breakfast trail rides will rejuvenate you with a steaming cup of coffee and ranch-hand breakfast – both prepared over an open fire.
